Calling back the art muse

I know I’ve been quiet on here. However, my writing muse has been keeping me busy. If you have followed me on Substack, (see link above) I’ve been posting every week about something related to my family and ancestors. Lately, I’ve been baking through my Mom’s recipe booklet of her favorite recipes.

But my art muse has been tapping on my shoulder, and I’ve decided to call her back! Louise Fletcher is currently offering a FREE Creative Reset, a 10-day course. It’s already started, but I think you can still get in and catch up. Here is the link.

Here are a couple exercises from the class. We took a large piece of paper and divided it into six squares using tape. Then just added lots of marks. I’ve done this before but it’s been a long time. Here is what my first one looked like before I removed the tape.

Pretty ugly huh? But once I removed the tape, I liked it.

But I really liked this next one that I chose some favorite colors.

Another exercise involved painting ugly pieces. And these are definitely ugly!

Even though they are awful looking I learned that I really like orange and green especially when I add some light blue! What? Yes, it worked. And then I liked the one on the left where I scraped the gray top to show what was under the mess. They are still ugly, but I learned something.

Today I found another FREE resource you might be interested in called Curated Bundle. Lots of freebees from 18 different artists. The offers are good for the next 13 days. Here is the link to the information.

If you feel like your art muse has left or you just want to be inspired, I think one of these offerings can help.

And if you are new here, don’t forget to check out my tutorials under the Tutorials tab at the top. Also, check out my You Tube channel here. My complete Icy Delights and my Easy Silk Dyeing online class videos and pdfs are there, and other tutorials.

Meanwhile, I’m off to write another post for my Recipes She Left Behind series. This one will be her recipe for Hershey Torte. It tasted great, but it didn’t set up like I wanted. But my tasters didn’t complain!! Check out my other recipes here.

That’s all for today. More to share soon. Thanks for dropping by.
